Johannesburg - Three suspected rhino poachers were killed in the past two days, SANParks said on Wednesday.

A fourth poacher was injured and three others arrested, said spokesperson Reynold Thakhuli in a statement.

One poacher was killed in the Kruger National Park on Monday when rangers came into contact with his group.

A firearm was confiscated and rhino horns were recovered.

Later in the day, another three people were arrested for rhino poaching in the lower Sabie section of the KNP.

A firearm and an axe were recovered

On Tuesday, rangers were following up on the case when they came across another group of suspected poachers.

One man was wounded and two were killed. A firearm and two axes were seized.

On 27 August, the total number of rhinos poached in the country stood at 222, said Thakhuli.

My day just ended on a high note!

      gungets.tuft - 2012-08-29 22:36

Better if they had been caught and lead the authorities up the chain to the people paying them, and onwards to the slitty eyed bastards at the top of the ladder. It's them we need, there are a million more foot soldiers ready to earn a buck by killing a rhino - we need to stop the okes at the top.

Good work rangers. Buy them a round of Bells.

  • SharonE - 2012-08-29 19:54

Show them exactly the same amount of mercy they show to the rhinos. They deserve no less.

yah I'm happy kill these heartless bastards

  • Andre - 2012-08-29 20:12

I suppose the rangers will now be held responsible for their death by the liberal humanist elements of this country!

  • okonkwo7 - 2012-08-29 20:15

    Rest in peace

      Johan De Beer - 2012-08-29 20:52

      Rest in pieces

      Mark G.R. Paxton - 2012-08-29 21:13

Kill 'em all! Our Rhino's lives are worth far more than these degenerate bottom feeders. As proven at Marikana, death is the only way to deal with the brain dead majority of this godless nation.

      okonkwo7 - 2012-08-29 21:37

Am not in the habit of celebrating death, no matter how justified it may seem. My humanity obliges me to sympathise with their deaths

      Gerda Malherbe - 2012-08-29 21:43

I hope you are referring to the poor rhinos, onkonkwo. No one gives a rats ass about the poachers. Shoot to kill them all

      elize.krause - 2012-08-29 22:16

I honestly hope that they would not rest in peace, may they be haunted by the souls of all the rhinos they so brutually murdered, preferably souls with axes and pangas in hand.

      pjthesecond.eldest - 2012-08-30 02:26

I would rather sympathise with the death of the rhino's. These fukkkers deserve to be killed!

  • terrylee.heuer - 2012-08-29 20:23

Great to see so few dislikes on the happy comments and so many dislikes on the "Rest in Peace comment": I hope you are talking about the Rhinos okonkwo7

  • leaproach.thekeeper - 2012-08-30 07:17

Let's declare war on Vietnam and invade their country and find all the masterminds of this and kill them and then come back satisfied :-)

  • chris.potgieter.73 - 2012-08-30 07:18

This is all well and good say most people. Fact is the "Marikana Syndrome" will also be applied to anyone that now resists arrest even the innocent. Let's not forget that our police services have been stocked by those who would be poachers and marchers!
