34 arrested for dagga possession

Johannesburg - A total of 34 people have been arrested in De Deur, south of Johannesburg, for possession of dagga, police said on Wednesday.

Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said the confiscated dagga had an estimated street value of R20 000.

The arrests were made during an operation that began last Friday and ended on Tuesday night.

Police also recovered eight suspected stolen cellphones and cash believed to be the proceeds of selling dagga.
