Johannesburg - Thirty four people were injured when a bus and a truck collided on the N3, about 15km from Harrismith on Friday evening, paramedics said.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said the bus veered off the road and into barriers after the crash.

"After triaging the injured it was found that a total of 34 people sustained injuries ranging from serious to minor," he said.

The injured were stabilised on the scene before being taken to the Harrismith provincial hospital.
He said the cause of the accident was not known.
