Johannesburg - Four men were arrested in Pretoria on Tuesday morning for vandalising Dobsonville soccer stadium, in Soweto, Gauteng police said.

They were being held at the Dobsonville police station and were expected to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court later in the day, Warrant Officer Kay Makhubele said.

He said they faced charges of trespassing and malicious damage to property.

Several other men had been arrested on similar charges and had been released on warnings. Some would appear in court on 26 October.

Makhubele said further arrests were expected.

The four were part of a group of Mamelodi Sundowns supporters who vandalised the stadium when the team lost 2-0 to Moroka Swallows on 30 September.

Sundowns' fans broke through the fence at the stadium, stormed the pitch and threw vuvuzelas at coach Johan Neeskens.

Three days later, the Premier Soccer League laid criminal charges against them.

anyone breaking the law or inciting violence or threatening another person even with a vuvuzela - is to face the law to the full extent - if not, then let them face their opposition - Moroka Swallows fans will give them a few klaps lol
