44th day in hospital for Mandela

2013-07-22 09:59

Pretoria - It was quiet on Monday outside the Pretoria hospital where former president Nelson Mandela is being treated.

Mandela is spending a 44th day in the Medi-Clinic Heart Hospital, where he was admitted on June 8 with a recurring lung infection.

Street cleaners were sweeping the cordoned off road in front of the hospital.

Police were stationed at both the hospital's entrances.

When are the gonna say he is out of hospital, or that he died? Nobody is telling the truth!

  • roosboom - 2013-07-22 10:15

Please don't worry, his daughter says he will be home soon. Yeh, right!!

      Leroy Reynolds - 2013-07-22 11:25

after 44 days, we can only expect him to return soon if he is discharged, the antibiotics and care is what's keeping him alive. Sad to think the last time I checked on this was 3 weeks ago and he's still in the hospital, how horrible!

  • Muke Matshaba - 2013-07-22 10:29

This is too much,,,,he wont come out of hospital alive no matter how good he has done,,age is no longer on his side. People must stop this nonesense of praying for miracles.

Seriously? This is a news story? How much did you pay the journalist for this non story? Whatever the amount, it was too much.

Ouch, Bob. That did hurt. The first 3 words of your comment, I mean. So sad that you have to project your anger at yourself and others in such a devastating manner. May you find peace. As for the rest of your comment, I share the same sentiments.

I don't think he is there anymore.....security detail way down!

      Leroy Reynolds - 2013-07-22 11:30

Is this private security? Mandela is no longer a president, I find it strange that there is so much talk about security. He is a celeb, and the ANC are having a field day with political exposure they are getting from him being in the news everyday...

  • Sontshatsha Kwezi - 2013-07-22 12:06

You better stay in hospital coz your family want to cash you, the sooner you die the sooner they make money from your funeral.

  • Alta Steyn - 2013-07-22 12:25

Maybe that is why they 'are keeping him alive', so the vultures won't attack him and kick his memory to the curb. These people are beyond ruthless.
