News24 previously reported how an ANC election billboard in Port Elizabeth had social media users begging for a proofreader.

YouTuber and DA councillor Renaldo Gouws on Monday evening spotted a glaring error on one of the ANC's election billboards in the coastal city.

Instead of the usual face of Cyril Ramaphosa accompanying the "Let's grow South Africa together" election campaign slogan, the billboard read "Let's grow South Africa togher".

That billboard has since been removed, with the ANC even going so far as to criticise the opposition for pouncing on the comical error.

The ANC has described the spelling mistake as mere "human error" on the part of one of its service providers.

The error will not "derail" the party and the immediate removal of the billboard will "kill the campaign of the opposition", the party's regional task team said on Tuesday.

Here are five outdoor adverts the ruling party can learn from:

  • Netflix witch doctor ads
  • Netflorist with all the cake
  • BMW super fast outdoor ad

  • Survivor billboard

  • Hollard sleepy eyes billboards
