Seshego - Five men have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping and brutal murder of a 25-year-old man whose body was left on the street in Seshego, Limpopo police said on Sunday.

The murder victim was kidnapped from his parents' home on November 30 by a group of men travelling in a minibus, said Lieutenant-Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe in a statement.

"They jointly assaulted him [and then] threw his body along the street."

He was found by passers-by who took him to hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

"The deceased sustained multiple injuries throughout his body."

Ngoepe said it was reported that the murder victim might have stolen wheel caps from the car of one of those arrested.

The suspects, ranging in age from 19 to 54, were arrested this weekend. A 9mm pistol believed to have been used in the assault was confiscated.

The men are due in the Seshego Magistrate's Court soon."Police investigations are still continuing," said Ngoepe.
