Bloemfontein - A man believed to be involved in an alleged rightwing plot to commit acts of terrorism appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.

Louis Lategan, 31, of Aberdeen, faces charges of treason and conspiracy to plan acts of terrorism. The case was postponed to February 7. He remains in custody.

The matter will be joined with that of four other rightwing members who have already appeared in court in connection with the same investigation.

Hein Boonzaaier, 50, of Centurion was granted bail of R80 000 last week.

Martin Keevy, 47, of Bloemfontein, Johan Prinsloo, 49, of Naboomspruit and Mark Trollip, 49, of Douglas, were denied bail.

They were arrested on 16 December 2012, the Day of Reconciliation, for allegedly planning to kill African National Congress leaders by detonating a bomb at the party’s national elective conference in Bloemfontein.

I don't have a problem with these guys but only if they are going to target corrupt and unworthy government officials. Leave the innocent people alone!

*snort* like anyone who refers to themselves as a "boere ninja" was going to be successful. They should be charged with bringing South Africa into disrepute, and making us the laughing stock of the modern world.

Hold if memory serves correctly this lot were NOT supposed to be arrested for trying / planning to plant bombs at the conference. Any bets they talked about it,likely drunk, as a lot do, someone overheard and the government wet their pants. Just shows you cannot trust the new SA afrikaaner. LOL

Racist racist. Why cant you understand that blacks need to be free as you are. Meal in the morning. Take the family for a holiday minding their own business. If corruption, unemployment and whatever crime they are also worried by it as well. Let black and white work together to build wealth for their families. Why hate and defend criminality.
