Johannesburg - Six men suspected of a string of housebreakings in Butterworth were arrested on Friday, Eastern Cape police said.

Captain Jackson Manatha said the men, aged between 18 and 25, were picked up in the Yako Informal Settlement.

"Most of the stolen properties were recovered from the shacks of the suspects. Some of the items included laptops, televisions, cameras and clothes," said Manatha.

The recovered goods were estimated to be worth R120 000.

The men would appear in the Butterworth Magistrate's Court on 22 October, where they would face charges of housebreaking and theft.
