2013-07-23 11:40

Johannesburg - Six people have been arrested for beating two people to death in Mqhekezweni, Eastern Cape police said on Tuesday.

The three men and three women accused the men of robbing the local community, and of raping elderly women, said Lieutenant Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela.

They assaulted the men, who later died in hospital, he said.

The six, aged between 23 and 37, were arrested on Monday night, and were expected to appear in the Bityi Periodical Court on Wednesday.

"We do not condone acts of mob justice. We appeal to the community not to take the law into their own hands," Fatyela said.

They must have been ANC members

Bring back true justice. Take away the rights of criminals and give the innocent people their rights back. THEN you'll see a sharp decline in mob justice.

Well since Mob Justice is not condoned I appeal to the justice system to introduce a system which works. Bring back the death penalty because that is the only thing which scares. Jail is a warm bed and food for most. Why should my tax money go to feeding and housing a bunch of rapists and murderers instead of the real needy. Think about how many people could be housed and educated if we did away with these monsters.

Forget the sick comments Richard it's a serious problem. What else can the general public do when our justice system fails us and prison sentences are looked forward to as a better life than most have outside. Vigilante justice must look a good option! Yes it's the ANC but not all just the people in charge. Time to derail the gravy train!!!!!

    mob justice rule...

  • Mina Moo - 2013-07-23 14:22

I condone mob justice purely because our police and justice system fails us time and time again. At least the victims and their families will sleep better at night knowing that those scum bags were taken off the streets and their mothers, daughters, sisters and grannies are safe from such savages!
