Tzaneen – A 72-year-old man and his grandson, 15, were expected to appear in court on charges of murder after they allegedly killed the man’s wife on Thursday night at Nkoankoa near Tzaneen, Limpopo police said on Friday.

They were expected to appear in the Nkoankoa Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said.

Ngoepe said the two had assaulted and stabbed the woman to death.

"When the police arrived on scene, the deceased was found lying in a pool of blood… with both her legs and hands tied with robes - she also sustained multiple stab wounds," he said.

Ngoepe said the motive for the killing was still unknown.
