9 injured in Durban accident

Johannesburg - Nine people were injured when a taxi they were travelling in collided with a car on the Umgeni river bridge in Durban on Sunday, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.

The accident occurred on the M4 when the car tried to overtake the taxi and collided with it, said Netcare 911 spokesperson Jeff Wicks.

The taxi lost control and overturned, injuring all passengers and the driver.

All those injured were rushed to a nearby hospital with two of them in a serious condition.

No one in the car was injured during the accident.
