Durban - Hundreds of people held a prayer meeting for former president Nelson Mandela at the Durban City Hall on Sunday.

They sang gospel and African National Congress songs.

On stage were banners bearing a picture of Mandela and the words, "We love you comrade Mandela" and "Madiba, your presence inspires us, our prayers are with you". Some people wore ANC regalia.

ANC KwaZulu-Natal chairperson Senzo Mchunu was expected to deliver the key note address.

The prayer meeting was attended by provincial secretary Sihle Zikalala, deputy chairperson Willies Mchunu, National Freedom Party general secretary Nnhlanhla Khubisa, religious leaders and traditionalists.

All of u act as if DA is clean. We all know that Helen Zille also benefited from the GUPTAS. Racism is rife in the western cape. Stop acting like DA is filled with angels.

Its unfortunate because Bin Laden is dead,i would'v called him and disperse that crowed.because if they were praying for zoomer to be a zcc member or brother,it was going to be better because he will be able to know and understand the concepts of leardership, not the concepts of doing corruption like he's doing now.zANC must please leave Tata alone plz!

ANC - What a curse they are on this beautiful country! The worst that any nation could hope for. May their end come quickly and ignominiously. God bless South Africa.

I think you all should let go of your hatred for the ANC en recognize the the life they paying tibute to. Nelson Mandela was was the ANC, is the ANC. He part of ANC history therefore it is well within the ANC governments right to pay tribute to someone that not only contributed his wisdom on the world but also onto the ANC. Yes, it is unfortunate that this organisation is plaugue by those that are currupt but not all are. Just as not all members of the other political parties are clean of corrupt actions. Let the ANC mourn its leader, let them show him the respect he deserves.
