2012-08-31 14:19

Durban - Hundreds of ANC supporters marched in Durban on Friday against political killings, rape, abuse of the elderly, and human trafficking.

KwaZulu-Natal ANC secretary Sihle Zikalala, eThekwini regional chairperson Sibongiseni Dhlomo and Mayor James Nxumalo joined the marchers who wore ANC T-shirts and carried the party's flag.

They waved placards saying: "ANC is against elderly abuse and ANC is against political assassinations."

The march started from Albert Park and would end at the Durban Central Police Station.

HATERS WHY DONT YOU APPRECIATE A GOOD CAUSE AS IS ,

      warren.rodel - 2012-08-31 15:09

I think its because it is not really constructive, I think that maybe more effort, time, and funds could go towards the Police, Medical and schooling facilities to assist with this issue and fix it with a long term solution, this will be forgotten the next day with a ANC save paper march.

      coursieres - 2012-08-31 16:59

Yes, they are good causes to protest about, but I would like to see Government corruption, unqualified people in important managerial positions, and a lack of service delivery added to their grievances. Then they would have everyones support.

Democracy is about hiring and firing. You hire someone for a particular job, if he fails you and your business is losing money at an alarming rate, do you give him a bonus or fire him and replace him with someone that is capable? Vote DA, give them a chance to put your money for past greivances into your areas which they have done so in the western cape. Why are people flocking to the cape? because we provide services where u know who has failed in other provinces.

Wow, another term used for striking, don't these people work, oh yes that's right, I'm paying tax so they don't have to. Whats next, snail extinction march? Much of a muchness. Oh wait a march or March? Is there anything constructive coming from this party?

      warren.rodel - 2012-08-31 15:26

@morama, shame don't get emotional, I understand that you are upset. Do you work for the ANC? are you happy with your vote? You can change if you wish, no pressure.

      morama.sebata - 2012-08-31 15:49

We all paying tax,i mean even the unemployed because they do goes to the shops to buy their neccesities so they too get taxed.Let's stop this irritating song of paying tax, your wasted tax money and all that because that won't take us anywhere.Let's be constructive and convince those who support the present regime to change their way of seeing things unlike singing one and the same song all over agin.South Africa needs to grow a pair and start seeing or looking at the challenges is facing.

March has now got 365 days instead of 31.

  • rich.mashimbye - 2012-08-31 15:27

It is the ANC in gov; don't march, rather vote them out

  • matt.dibbs.9 - 2012-08-31 15:44

Every time I see the ANC at a conference or meeting, all they seem to do is sing and dance. If they’re not at a conference, then they’re out marching against themselves. Why don’t they stand up, take responsibility do some work and sort things out. I don’t think I ever seen David Cameron or Barack Obama singing, dancing and eating KFC!!!!!!

From thousands to hundreds of supporters, a reflection that the numbers of people supporting the ANC are dwindling.

This is outrageous, l have never seen anything like this, ANC needs to create jobs, its good to march if your not happy as a citizen of the country, but this is very strange.
