The one thing I fear is that appointing muslims into key positions might result in anti Israeli sentiment just like at what happened at university of johannesburg. Im not pro Israel by the way, as I want Palestinians to have their own independent land, BUT when people from tertiary institutions start speaking against Israel and start breaking off links with Israeli tertiary institutions, this DOES NOT represent my views as a south african NOR the views of students at south african tertiary institutions.

Found Guilty cos' of his religion............Is this not how the World works today.

Its the way, the world has always worked. The world is all about cliques. Either a racial clique, or a social class clique, political clique or religious clique. The islamic clique must not even dare to potray me or tertiary level students as being part of the anti israel clique.

Yes, As I thought.............No common sense approach lets ensure we make the same pathetic mistakes over and over again as our forefathers did. That's the Human way.

PLEASE!!! Don't bring K.K Govender back. That would be tantamount to academic suicide. .... The best of luck to prof Habib.

That's good news. The man is simply the best for the post. He must use his skills to fight the racism at the university.

A small focus on academics might also be appropriate at a varsity. But yes fighting racism must be his primary goal. As an ex Witsie I am fully aware of our conservative racist history so it brings me joy to hear a progressive person like yourself endorse the man.

Only if it about EDUCATION......on the other hand, hoping for clear education without all the political and religious influences is difficult in todays 'atmosphere' of universities.
