Johannesburg - A 20-year-old woman who alleges that former modelling boss Dawie de Villiers raped her when she was a teenager has told the court that the two had a sexual relationship prior to the incident, the High Court sitting in Palm Ridge heard on Wednesday.

"Dawie and I had a sexual relationship before he raped me," the woman told the court.

Earlier, when cross-examined by De Villiers's lawyer, Jaques Pienaar, she had said she was a virgin before the rape occurred.

"Why didn't you tell us this earlier?" Pienaar asked the woman.

"Because I was scared," the woman said, crying.

Pienaar then asked her if she had had consensual sex with his client.

"Yes, twice," the woman told the court.

A shocked De Villiers shook his head as if denying the woman's statement.

Didn't tell her parents

Earlier, Pienaar had grilled the woman on why she did not tell her parents what had happened to her.

She told the court that if she had told her mother, she would have forced her to stop modelling.

"My mom already told me that modelling was a bad idea. If [my dad] found out, I wouldn't be able to do modelling," she said.

The woman claims De Villiers raped her in 2010 when she was 15-years-old during what was supposed be a bikini photo shoot at the company's studio in Kempton Park.

De Villiers is facing 38 counts of, among others, rape, sexual and indecent assault, sexual grooming and possession of child pornography.

He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
