Port Elizabeth - About 70 people stoned buses in Kwanobuhle on Wednesday morning, Eastern Cape police said.

Six buses were hit at about 06:00 by stones which damaged bodywork and windows, said Lieutenant Colonel Priscilla Naidu.

"Police were quick to react and the group dispersed," she said.

No arrests had been made but a case of malicious damage to property has been opened.

"The commuters were angry about tariff increases," said Naidu.

That's right. YOUR government you voted for, increase the fuel price, forcing companies to up their tarrifs, and you throw them with stones? Why don't you go and stone Zuma's house and the Union building? Why do you keep on voting for this government?

"throw them with stones." Sorry, I agree with some things you said, but I had to point that out because it made me laugh.

Throwing stones, burning property, protesting, dancing & screeching = Majority aerobics !

The minister of transport should put his think-tank at the bus rank and look at the disaster he has caused by intermittently putting the price of petrol up and carefully consider what the consequences of the next 28cents will cause.A country in total Chaos.Stones and matches the only weapons.

Maybe if the commuters stopped stoning and burning buses and trains, they wouldn't need to put fairs up so high?

      Marion - 2012-04-25 16:10

and if the petrol / diesel prices did not keep increasing at an alarming rate.

      Danny - 2012-04-26 08:51

And which planet do you come from?

      Nikki Bodenstein - 2012-04-26 23:04

Just like our stupid municipal workers here striking about wanting R8000 to ride on the garbage truck. Dumped all the rubbish in the streets, set tires on fire.....and didn't think about who was going to clean up the mess. They ended up picking up all their mess again, what morons!

Can the blacks protest without destroying property. It looks like they must destroy everything they have. Sick, ill disciplined and sad.

      Zolisa - 2012-04-25 14:52

Why racist remarks Andrew,u cant say people r sick man when they r angry bcoz of their financial problems..I agree with u that people must not destroy their own schools, libraries but leave the race issue (the colour of their skinand talk about what these ppl r doing

      Christian J Denyschen - 2012-04-25 15:18

@zolisa does your black brothers and sisters make u ashamed of being black. stop thinking every time someone says something about blacks its racist is it not true that they cant protest without destruction?

      Marion - 2012-04-25 16:09

@Christian - Andrew could just as easily have said 'Can the commuters protest without destroying property'. Bringing race into it makes it a racist comment.

      anthro45 - 2012-04-25 16:50

But are Andrew and Christian wrong?

      Nikki Bodenstein - 2012-04-26 22:58

So true! Always striking and breaking down everything around them costing us more bloody money. Uncivilized bunch!

Damage it so that we can have a reason to pass it on to you through higher fares - we will incur repair and replacement costs, remember.

  • Nikki Bodenstein - 2012-04-26 22:57

Good job dummies, now there are no buses!
