Another North West official suspended

Johannesburg - Another senior manager of the North West human settlements department has been suspended, the department said on Tuesday.

Spokesperson Lesolang Simon Mmope said the chief director of housing, Ndoda Mgengo, was suspended with immediate effect from Monday [August 13] on allegations of misconduct.

His suspension came just a week after department head Thupi Mokhatla’s for the same allegations.

"Mr Mgengo is also prohibited from entering the premises of the department without prior written permission from the acting head of department, Mr Monnapula Motlogelwa. Mgengo was further suspended with full remuneration and benefits."

Mmope said Malefane Motsumi had been appointed acting chief director of housing development with immediate effect.

    why must they get paid etc when everyone knows that they are stealing ,instead of been paid ,pay back the money you stole

      Agreed with your comment. They must be given an opportunity to answer and if the case is factually strong against them, then dismiss them with immediate effect.

    Suspension with full pay is nt a punishment, its a paid vacation.

    Mgengo was further suspended with full remuneration and benefit, sounds like prize giving to me, not suspension.
