Arms cache found in Centurion house

2011-10-11 08:30

Pretoria - Gauteng police discovered an arms cache at a house in Wierdabrug in Centurion, west of Pretoria, an official said on Tuesday.

Police received a tip-off about the weapons at a house in Viking Street on Monday afternoon, Lieutenant Colonel Tshisikhawe Ndou said.

"A total of 30 firearms and thousands of ammunitions [sic] of different calibre were found."

A tenant explained he was only renting some of the rooms in the house.

"When police opened the rooms that the tenant was barred from entering, an assortment of firearms which includes .303 rifles, 9mm pistols, revolvers, pellet guns, army uniforms, police uniform, air force uniform, police blue lights and hunting rifles, as well as various calibre of ammunition were found."

No arrests were made. The house owner is currently overseas.

National Police Commissioner General Bheki Cele thanked police for their good work.

Good Work? NO ARRESTS WERE MADE! How about the tenant? Are you telling me they think he wasn't aware of living in an arms cache!

      test123 - 2011-10-11 09:05

@TextOfReason - I suppose he meant good work for obtaining the weapons and for the information that led to locating the weapons. Don't you think so?

      GypseyAnn - 2011-10-11 09:17

This report doesn't indicate whether it was the Wierdabrug police who made the bust. FYI they are not that effective as exposed by investigative reporting on 702. However, this report is very worrying indeed particularly in the light of all the false cops, etc running around. It will be very interesting to know who is renting the other rooms in the dwelling ...

      Verbatim - 2011-10-11 09:48

@gypsy - get your facts and location straight. Its the Lyttelton police station thats a problem, Wierdabrug is actually a very good police station and i always go there to have things done

      victorp - 2011-10-11 10:09

Well they weren't the lost, stolen, hired out, police weapons. Perhaps they should issue the 303 to the police officers that have lost fire arms, of which there are thousands. You cannot conceal a 303 when you lend it to your friend to rob a bank or jewelery store.

What is happening re the inquiry about the Cele fraud case..? What is happening re the Hawks' investigation into Malema's fraud, corruption and money-laundering case/s..? Indeed what is happening re the (literally) thousand of OUTSTANDING cases of crime/fraud/corruption/alike against more than 3/4s of the current ANC upper echelon..? Let alone the (similar) cases against their families and 'connections'..? Why are we persistently being served these 'red herrings'..? The largest organised crime syndicate in SA (if not the world) is the ANC..! Hence the reason the ANC is perpetually supporting/calling for- (supposed) "sovereignty" - they need 'it' to build their CRIME REGIME, while using military force to protect their CORRUPTION MAFIA. They do not want to 'deal' with the West, as the West is morally astute - the Chinese are a morally corrupt-, totalitarian regime - it fits the ANC demeanor like a glove. NOTE: BE AWARE, EVERY BIT OF INFORMATION YOU PART WITH DURING CENSUS 2011, WILL BE EMPLOYED TO FURTHER OPPRESS- AND DISOWN THE WHITE MINORITY OF SA.

Now only 20400 unaccounted weapons good they making progress.

      LBS - 2011-10-11 12:34

If it was another bogus "police" gang - good for them that they were caught! If it was some organization trying to mobilize the farmers to protect themselves - HOW CAN YOU BE SO STUPID TO BE CAUGHT!

  • psydomx - 2011-10-11 08:56

I tend not to believe this report, the resistance wouldn't be soo stupid as to leave a cashe like this, all seems way to easy. One thing i can draw from this report is that the cANCer is starting to realize that sooner or later all their corrupt nonsense will have consequences. There is a fine line between freedom fighters and patriots.

      Christo - 2011-12-12 10:47

are there still freedom fighters in SA?. I think you overslept everything or are you t5hat stupid to believe white people are not free. Wake up psydom, if read correct, psyco and ''dom'', you've not experience what's the meaning of struggle. Your children has still got the importunity to the best education, you've still got the right to vote, you've still got the opertunity to differ. So dont wish for what you do not know......

  • TrippiZee - 2011-10-11 09:06

Centurion is south of Pretoria, not west, and there's no suburb called Wierdabrug, it's Wierdapark, the police station 100m from where the cache was found is called wierdabrug, both of which are actually in Valhalla, get it right!

      test123 - 2011-10-11 09:09

@TrippiZee - Hahaaa...haha...I laughed when I read in the story about where Centurion was with respect to Pretoria.

  • TrippiZee - 2011-10-11 09:09

@Gugu, boer revolt my ar#e, this is most likely some corrupt cops securing weapons for their friends in the crime syndicates

      Robert M - 2011-10-11 10:02

And you the one who gave them an annonymous tip off

  • Buzzbar - 2011-10-11 09:37

This sounds like the raid on the poor guy in Durbanville CT where they "supposedly" uncovered a massive arms cache of over 40 guns which turned out to be airsoft pellet guns... The thousands of rounds of ammo in that case were plastic pellets! Ha ha ha.

      LBS - 2011-10-12 17:26

Well what do you know, and News24 never reported this bit of information afterwards.

  • Born To Fish - 2011-10-11 09:44

Yup. The maaifoedies time is almost up....

      Great White - 2011-10-11 11:11

What pees me off is how these dudes always get impimpied on...probably by someone that knows him quite well. Word of advice...before you stockpile a weapons cache, try not to bone your neighbour's wife, klap your friend, not pay back that loan to your brother in law or offend another oke's rugby team..

  • tiyani.sithole - 2011-10-11 10:09

That's how I did it EnglishBoer...lekker ou dae. A platoon of five Riot Unit cops with sjamboks against a thousand tsotsies...all that was left was a lot of shoes and hats.

  • RSA 2010 - 2011-10-11 10:32

How can this be "good work" if the SAPS were simply responding to a tip off. Good work would imply that the SAPS were aware of the cache due to their own hard word, not simply waiting for someone to call the station and tell them where to go and look. Useless.
