Cape Town - Parole was on Wednesday denied to two of the five people convicted of killing 6-month-old baby Jordan Leigh Norton 10 years ago.

A parole hearing took place for Zanethemba Gwada and Bonginkosi Sigenu at the Drakenstein Prison in Paarl.

Department of Correctional Services spokesperson Simphiwe Xako told News24 the two inmates' application was dismissed.

"Their case will be heard on June 17 2016, exactly a year from now, for further profiling," he said.

The two were jailed with mastermind Dina Rodrigues, Sipho Mfazwe and Mongezi Bobotyane for the 2005 murder in which the baby was stabbed in the neck at the family's Lansdowne home.

All three were sentenced to life in jail, but Mfazwe and Bobotyane were handed a further 10 years for armed robbery.
