Johannesburg - A woman was found beaten to death in Kamesh, Uitenhage, on Sunday morning, Eastern Cape police said.

The body of Cynthia Malgas, 38, was found in her home, Warrant Officer Gerda Swart said.

Malgas's one-year-old child was sitting with her body on a couch in the living room.

When police arrived, they were informed that Malgas's 40-year-old partner had been seen leaving the house in the early hours of the morning.

"At about 08:00 this morning, the suspect returned home and was arrested on the spot for the alleged murder," Swart said.

He would appear in Uitenhage Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

Malgas's son was being cared for by his grandparents.

I wonder who called & informed the police and why this guy returned the same morning, although he obviously didn't realise that he'd been seen leaving.

tragic...The men in SA should take a stand and draw the line where woman abusers are concerned. Personally,as a female,i say there are many occasions in an arguement where us being females can say horrible things, and yes, should it come that we say things that deserves a klap, well, then give it.But not this..this is cruel..THIS, is WRONG!.

      suerita.fortuin - 2013-01-13 19:49

so the thumbs down are most probably from the SA men that are to scared to take a stand against these barbaric men.

I agree, when angry or upset we can say horrible things and they can never be taken back BUT, a klap, can never be condoned, it is not acceptable! We all say things we shouldn't in the heat of the moment, but violence is not the answer :(

      suerita.fortuin - 2013-01-13 20:50

agree...violence is never the answer...n klap may burn but the burning feeling goes away.,but the demon commonly known as mental abuse who has a side-kick known as verbal abuse,is a demon who grows with each passing day.
