Durban - A baby was killed and eight people were injured when a car ploughed into a group of people in Bergville, KwaZulu-Natal, on Tuesday, paramedics said.
A car and a bakkie collided on the Dukuza road, KwaZulu-Natal emergency medical services spokesperson Robert Mckenzie said.
"It is alleged that during the collision one of the vehicles subsequently crashed into a group of people who were standing on the side of the road waiting for transport," he said.
"A mother was holding her 25-day-old baby girl when she was struck by one of the vehicles. She was seriously injured and sadly the baby girl did not survive the collision."
The injured were transported to Emmaus Hospital.
