Johannesburg - Two policemen accused of corruption allegedly involving R1.1m were granted bail of R10 000 each by the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, the Hawks said.

Major General Solly Lazarus and Colonel Hein Barnard, both of whom have been suspended, were arrested on Tuesday, said Hawks' spokesperson Paul Ramaloko.

They faced charges of theft, fraud and corruption for allegedly benefitting from a secret crime intelligence "slush fund".

Ramoloko said the case was postponed until 21 February.

Impressive. If you guys can make the "Suspended Top Cops charged with Fraud" article disappear within minutes of my reply to Kohler, you do not need your secrecy bill - you already control the media. Time for me to retire... with 4 years more accumulated insurance. Merry Christmas.
