Matt Silver-Vallance is waiting for the perfect weather conditions to travel from Robben Island to Cape Town using just helium balloons. Watch.WATCH

Cape Town - A man has landed safely on a boat off Sunset Beach in Cape Town after floating from Robben Island using nearly 200 helium balloons.

Matt Silver-Vallance made the daring flight in order to raise funds for the construction of a new Nelson Mandela Children's Hospital in Johannesburg.

"Matt landed at 12:45 on 6 April 300m off shore between the shipwreck & Sunset Beach. Well done Matt! #RIBR" @Balloonbloke tweeted.
