Body of girl, 6, found in veld

2012-11-05 07:28

Johannesburg - The body of a 6-year-old girl was discovered in the West Rand, police said on Sunday.

"It is alleged that a community member was walking in an open veld between Kagiso and Azaadville on Saturday when he came across a body lying there," West Rand police spokesperson Pinky Tsinyane said.

"It is not known exactly when the girl was murdered or why."

Tsinyane said the police were appealing to people to come forward with any information which would help them in their investigation.

Horrible what this country became since the ANC came into power.

Firtsly, my heart and prayers go out to the family, in the hope that they will find some peace in this chaos. Secondly: This type of violent, cowardly act, goes way deeper than mere politics. The world has lost its moral compass, and SA is no different to any other country when it comes to this. We all need to take accountability to guide this country ,back onto a moral path, where each life is sacred, and each person matters.

She was 6 years old, her whole life ahead of her, Zuma your day will come and you will pay dearly, Her blood is on your hands.

@AlainaRoberts I think your statement is a bit unfair and baseless. Can you please elaborate. What you saying is that during Apartheid there were no murders? ------------------------------------------------------- May the soul of the little girl RIP. Police will work hard to find the perpetrators.

@bevan.veall. Sorry I disagree with you. I have just been to Thailand and this sort of thing does not occur there! If it did there would be an outrage. This country smacks of greed, aggression and no respect for oneself. MY HEART CRIES OUT FOR OUR CHILDREN! We make such a seen about the current politics, but what are we doing to protect our next generation?

      lorain.maseko - 2012-11-05 08:57

@gift.mushi.9 -I think what Alaina means is that, they were protected from this sort of thing back then and now it's just terrrible that they too have become victims of crime,it should have only been reserved for other peo[ple.

      prudyme - 2012-11-05 11:04

now this is ridiculous really does everything have to be about the ANC being in power? the "blame it all on the ANC" game is just simply stupid as if this country was any good with whoever the hell was in power before the ANC

      jody.beggs - 2012-11-05 11:11

No @christopher.shining its an African thing , cultural not the color of the skin. With Zuma as a role model , anything is possible , he got away with rape and probably murder ? After all he was a terrorist planting bombs for freedom ! What's changed , the minorities are being stolen from.( by minorities I mean the working class) Damn the man...

      bontle.kadeem - 2012-11-05 16:48

How can that happen to someone so innocent? Men it is still our duty to protect women and children of this planet Earth, shame to myself

  • maureen.churchill.9 - 2012-11-05 10:23

Shame poor little girl, snuffed out at the tender age of 6. Life in South Africa is so cheap, but the murderers will go to jail be fed watered and entertained. I have no doubt she was killed by some vicious bastards who took advantage of her first.

They don't know when she was murdered?! why is a six year old not supervised? Have the people of this sick place not learned that our country is full of these disgusting child murderers. So how did she land up in a field with no-one reporting her gone. I don't even allow my children to play in the back garden without somebody there to take care. We have to watch our children, guard them against the madness of these horrific people. No child deserves to die in a veld scared and alone, only with the monster who took her. As adults and parents we have to find away for these monsters to be held accountable for hurting the children of this country. we need to bring back the death penalty? Zero Tolerance!!! I wish it could be like when I was a kid, we could play in the streets, we were free to have fun. Now - I can't let my kids out of my site, even inside our house i need to know where they are.
