Johannesburg - Four awaiting trial prisoners accused of detonating a bomb inside a prison truck appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Friday.

The matter was postponed to next month for further investigation.

Three people died and 15 were injured on Monday when an explosive device was set off in a truck carrying 36 prisoners.

The prisoners were being transported from the Randburg Magistrate's Court to Johannesburg Central Prison.

The men had been in custody prior to the incident and all were facing charges of robbery.
