Polokwane - A teenage boy accused of killing his grandmother appeared in the Mankweng Regional Court on Monday, Limpopo police said.

Constable Moses Molepo said the 14-year-old was released into his parents' custody until his next appearance on March 23.

The teenager allegedly strangled his 68-year-old grandmother during an argument.

She had apparently told him to switch off the television and do household chores.

Wow, unbelievable. Fourteen and already a killer. I hope his parents don't tell him to do chores, seems he does not like work. RIP Granny, you did not deserve to die like that.

death penalty should have been in place now, it seems government has not set a proper example for youth of today, especially malema - fat cats = greed / crime / racism ......enough is enough

I wonder what kind of life he'll lead from now on. Since he now know that he can kill, he'll probably be a criminal. RIP gogo

Our Children are getting out of hand. If the child can murder granny. next its you the parent. Be careful, better sent the child to jail for life your self as bigger things are still to come. let it go.

Gosh what is happening to our kids? At that age I never even thought about talking back to my mother, dad or grandmother coz I knew I would get a hiding of note. I am married, mother of one, even today I know dat I can't just talk any how to my mother let alone raise a hand on her. THIS IS BAD!!!

      Perfume - 2012-02-21 10:17

My late mother had the "look", and neither my brothers or I would challenge the "look". She also had the perfect throw, answer back you would just feel a brush, or a shoe against your head. Those were the days of discipline.

      Nokuthula - 2012-02-21 11:12

@ PERFUME those were the days when kids knew that an adult needs to be respected. My mother was the same, and those hidings made me the person that I am today. I never saw the hidings as abusive but as a parent moulding her child to be a responsible, respective individual. I was bought up in a home full love, discipline and I'm sure going to raise my son the same way. The goverment make all these irresponsible rules / acts about our kids and we as parents are left to deal with Consequences of unruly kids.

    Some people are born criminals!

  • mclabuschagne - 2012-02-21 09:27

Terrible - what happened to youth having respect for elders. Parents teach your children well - it starts at home from a young age!

  • paullombard17 - 2012-02-21 09:55

  • Mona - 2012-02-21 10:01

What is this world coming to??!!!

  • JJ - 2012-02-21 10:11

What the hell? How do you look after a child that killed your parent? This is getting more and more disturbing, i wouldn't have have touched a hair on Gran's head outside of hugging her.

      Lulama - 2012-02-21 13:23

I suppose as much as he killed your mother, he's still your son. There is just no way to separate the two. Tricky and scary hey? The world we live in.

  • Susan - 2012-02-21 10:26

Ja ne, you can't tell them to do anything these days. Poor old lady tried to teach him, but failed...

  • Rene - 2012-02-21 10:52

It is very sad when the human race starts acting like animals. This is what happens when a child grows up in a world where no one is held accountable for their actions.

  • Mbulelo - 2012-02-21 11:55

    Very scary...

  • Shirley - 2012-02-21 13:07
