Breakthrough in PE teacher's murder case

Port Elizabeth - Police have made a breakthrough in the investigation into the murder of teacher Jayde Panayiotou, and are believed to have arrested a suspect.

Eastern Cape police spokesperson Brigadier Marinda Mills said a media briefing would be held in Port Elizabeth at 10:00 on Thursday morning to provide more details.

Eyewitness News also reported that two men aged 28 and 31 had been arrested.

The popular Riebeek College Girl’s High School teacher was abducted outside her home in Kabega Park last week Tuesday.

Her body was found the following day in an isolated area near KwaNobuhle Township in Uitenhage.

She had been shot dead.

- News24 is aware of the identity of the second suspect but the law states he cannot be named until he appears in court.
