Brothers to appear for killing cousins

2013-01-10 20:18

Johannesburg - Two brothers will appear in court next week for allegedly shooting their cousins - also two brothers - dead at a family ceremony in Butterworth, Eastern Cape police said on Thursday.

Captain Jackson Manatha said brothers Goodman Mgwali, 30, and Luthando Mgwali, 26, were shot dead on 28 December, in Ndaba Location.

Goodman died at the scene while his younger brother died later at Butterworth Hospital.

"It is alleged a conflict between the two families sparked the feud. The men, 43-year-old Fezekile Faniso and his brother, 36-year-old Makhosandile Faniso, were arrested and appeared before the Nqamakwe Magistrate's Court," said Manatha.

Manatha added that police recovered a 9mm pistol with six rounds and a 7.65 pistol believed to have been used in the double murder.

The men will appear again before the Nqamakwe Magistrate's Court next Wednesday for a bail application.

Is this what we fought so hard for, democratic freedom and all that. Only to act like barbarians. The sooner the death sentence is brought back the better. This will be the only thing they undertand "an eye for an eye"

Rest in peace dear brothers. It is sad how we have lost the respect for human life. all the influences around us make it alright to kill, look at the movies we so much love. they play a major role, even though we would love to believe they don't. Lets guide or children in the right path and show respect for each other. we are human beings, let us treat each other as such.
