Johannesburg - A bus driver was killed and 25 people were injured when the vehicle left the road and crashed into shacks in Khayelitsha, Western Cape police said on Saturday.

Lt-Col Andre Traut said the bus was pelted with stones, which resulted in the accident on Friday night. No arrest had been made.

The Golden Arrow bus veered off Mew Way bridge and landed on four shacks, which were not occupied at the time.

"The bus driver died on the scene due to the extent of his injuries. Twenty five passengers sustained injuries, and were treated," said Traut.

Before the bus left the road it collided with another car, but the driver of the car was not injured.

High time that we get laws that punish the diobedient, but alas.....what cadre wants that?

      lacrimose.wolf - 2012-08-04 19:24

Well to be fair there ARE laws. Catching & successfully convicting the lawless is problematic.

ANC's definition of democracy: If we cannot win through the ballot box we use any means to cause chaos! Nail those son's of seafaring godmothers-in-law, including Mr. Tony Ehrenreich a.k.a Mr. Personality!

Why do the decent people in the wc protect their streets from these creatures?

      lacrimose.wolf - 2012-08-04 21:53

Because decent people doing the right thing run the very real risk of being killed in the process. On paper we're a democracy, in reality we're a thuggery

Smh! Golden Arrow increases the fares so Khayelitsha residents decide to destroy their buses.

@ANCYL This behaviour is disgraceful! An innocent man has been killed and the politicking goes on regardless. When the call to make the Western Cape "ungovernable" was made ,what did they expect? Choatic Mob Behaviour must come to an end,but this won't be possible as the people that are involved DON'T have the necessary skills to engage the opposition in a mature, disciplined and articulate way.So burn.burn.burn.Kill as well and the people will be free! Only problem, one man will NOT see that "freedom" .A freedom that promisses more "poverty and pain"!
