Social media users were tweeting through the night and on Tuesday morning, with residents expressing concern as the fire approaches Clovelly Golf Club in the Fish Hoek area for the first time.

Fish Hoek police station confirmed to News24 that the fire was approaching the area, but could not confirm any other developments, or whether an evacuation plan is in place yet.

The fire is still roaring in the Hout Bay area too, after the blaze spread westwards from the Noordhoek area on late Monday afternoon, with Chapman's Peak Drive still closed.

250 firefighters from Working On Fire will make their way to Cape Town from around the country to help battle the blaze, EWN reported.

The fire is also still raging in the Constantiaberg areas, placing the heat of the inferno around Tokai and atop Elephant's Eye.

It also appears that the fire has started back up again in the Muizenberg area, having died down on Monday afternoon thanks to brave efforts from firefighters.

52 residents have since been admitted to hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation, eNCA reported on Tuesday.

The fire initially started on the southern most point of the long Table Mountain range above Muizenberg on Sunday morning, spreading to the Noordhoek area by Sunday night.
