Cape Town - A Cape Town woman was found guilty of faking her child's kidnapping so she could collect the ransom money, the Daily Voice reported on Friday.

Kateryna Karpovska was convicted of three counts of fraud totalling R4m by the Bellville Commercial Crimes Court on Thursday.

In one case, the 39-year-old had convinced her friends to raise funds for her son's ransom.
