Cape Town - Police have identified four of the six men who were killed in a gruesome murder in Kraaifontein, said Western Cape police commissioner General Arno Lamoer on Thursday.

Lamoer said investigators will hopefully have the identities of the other two men by the end of the day.

All the victims are between the ages of 18 and 30. Lamoer said it was too early to speculate as to what was the motive of the murders.

“All possible evidence has been collected... and forensics are analysing the evidence,” said Lamoer.

"It looks like they were stoned. There are stones lying around on the scene," police spokesperson Tembinkosi Kinana said on Wednesday.

A private security guard said it looked as if the men were executed.

Lamoer said a special task team has been set up to investigate the murders.
