Cape Town - The bail application of a man accused of shooting a 12-year-old girl dead was postponed in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

Faizel Swartz, 21, was told to appear again on May 14 as the Regional Court prosecutor first needed to look at his docket.

Sade Boltman, 12, was walking with her sister Tiffaney, 17, and cousin Quade, 12, in Bonteheuwel on Saturday night when they were caught in a crossfire.

Two rival gangs were shooting at each other on the corner of Vlamboom and Vaalbos streets.

Sade died on the scene. Her sister was shot in the right foot, and Quade in his left cheek. Police arrested Swartz at the scene.

He faces charges of murder, attempted murder, and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
