Johannesburg - A man was seriously injured when his car fell on him in Meredale, south of Johannesburg, on Thursday morning, paramedics said.

He was working underneath the vehicle at his home at the time, ER24 spokesperson Vanessa Jackson said.

Four construction workers near the house heard a bang and managed to pull the car off him. Paramedics found the man, believed to be in his 40s, with serious chest and head injuries.

He was treated on the scene and taken to the Chris Hani Baragwanath hospital.

ALWAYS use axle stands or some kind of support, NEVER rely on the jack alone. I wish you a speedy recovery.

We need to practice safety first rule before we do any thing, and make sure before we do any thing all safety measures are in place and your life is not in any danger, those are basics when working on any situation, even at home when cooking.Lets follow rules people and not do as we know otherwise we will hurt or injure ourselves.
