Johannesburg - A man was killed and another injured when their car rolled at a T-junction on Marina Street near Nooitgedacht, northwest of Johannesburg, on Saturday, paramedics said.

"The vehicle... appears to not have been able to stop at the T-junction and it crossed over it and rolled into veld," ER24 spokesperson Vanessa Jackson said.

The man was found lying in the veld trapped underneath the car. He was declared dead on the scene.

The injured man, in his 20s, was also found lying in the veld and was taken to Helen Joseph Hospital, said Jackson.

I think we should mention the brand and make of vehicles involved in accidents. I think it can be helpful info in car buying decisions. We may see that most accidents happen with a certain car.

It sounds like the usual coffin on wheels. No brakes, bald tyres, never serviced and driven at high speed after drinking. We all know friends and family who fit into this category. So the make of car is necessary.

If driver was unable to stop car its clearly a case of driving at high speed and nt being able to turn at that spEed ! So its nothing to do with make of car

Im british and love SA but your driving is unbelievable, I agree with gailcarolynhayes, we have a very strict driving policy but the main problem in SA is the FACT that a vast majority of driver "bought" their licences and didnt go through any driving test themselves! If you have a large population who bought the licence will never be able to driver in a decent way! Thats why they need to sort out the test procedure and stop the bribery!
