Durban - The Nsimbini Magistrate's Court on Thursday dropped charges against two teenagers who allegedly used fraudulent report cards to register at a high school, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

"The court declined to prosecute the fraud case," Captain Thulani Zwane said.

The two, aged 15 and 16, were arrested on Wednesday for trying to register for Grade 9 at the Mtwemtweni High School near Amanzimtoti with fraudulent report cards.

"They claimed that the reports were from the Khayelihle High School that they had previously attended in uMbumbulu.

"Authorities at Khayelihle High School refuted the claims that the school reports had been issued by them," Zwane said.
