Celiwe gets her new skin

Johannesburg - Krugersdorp toddler Celiwe Maseko has become the second person in South Africa to receive a revolutionary skin transplant, eNCA reports.

The 5-year-old Celiwe was severely burnt when her dress caught fire last year.

Her skin cells were sent to a laboratory in America to be cloned.

According to the news channel, doctors say the operation went well.

Africa's first transplant using skin grown elsewhere was done on Pippie Kruger last year and her fund was contributing more than R200 000 towards Celiwe’s medical expenses, eNCA said.
