Johannesburg - The results for the 2011 Census, the third in post-apartheid South Africa, will be released on Tuesday, Stats SA said.

The Census 2011 results would contain information on the country's population, households, migration and service delivery levels, Stats SA said in a statement.

The data will be available to the public in print and electronic formats, "interactive products" as well as smartphone applications.

The printed Census 2011 materials will be available in the Stats SA office from Tuesday and will be released in a staggered schedule.

The electronic materials can be downloaded from the website,

    IQ down, corruption up.

      michael.lockett.714 - 2012-10-30 08:11

Got to wonder how accurate the results will be considering the forms were filled out in pencil and census workers were seen everywhere changing the answers.

We were not counted in this census, and neither were the neighbors. Stay in Durbanville Hills, Durbanville

Wondering how reliable the figures will be.....

      ahenriquesfernandes - 2012-10-30 07:47

I would say not 100% reliable. I wasn't even counted. Phoned their call centre 3 times to tell them I wasn't available in their counting times for my area and asked what they would like me to do. Left my number each time and never heard from them. I wonder what they put down for me ... or anyone else for that matter.

      Dawn Campbell Gibson - 2012-10-30 07:59

not at all. 80% of people i know were not counted at all.

  • yar.wellnofine - 2012-10-30 08:04

This is a combined census for Zim, DRC, Somalia and Nigeria. Because half of them are here illegally.

  • mike.bester1 - 2012-10-30 08:16

Census was a waste of money .only the legal SA citizens where counted .We are still waiting for them to come and count us ? I pick up casual labourer regularly ,and ask for ID books ,,7 out of 10 are illegal immigrants ?

  • wonderboy.s.maseko - 2012-10-30 08:22

This will help government on their plans on service delivery, although some of us were ignorant during data collection last year.

  • brad.ken.18 - 2012-10-30 08:44

An entire village called Stanford in the Western Cape, where I lived for years, not a single white person was counted. That was just over a polulationof just over 2000 residence. In the township just on the other side of the vlei every single other person WAS counted! This sensus is nothing but a disgusting lie! Once again cANCer cook the books to suit them! GET OUT!!!!!

  • eugene.schutte.92 - 2012-10-30 08:49

  • Pete7930 - 2012-10-30 08:53

Ha ha, 1 year later should have given them enough time to rub out their pencil results and administer the crooked figures.
