IF you have a burning question for the city’s mayor Chris Ndlela, then you have until 12 pm today to put it to him.

In the build up to the State of the City address (Soca) which is set to take place tomorrow, Msunduzi Municipality has urged all residents and visitors of the city to make use of the #AskChrisN on Twitter.

Locals have already taken to social media asking Ndlela how he plans to tackle problems facing the city such as traffic woes and potholes.

“#AskChrisN the traffic in Pietermaritz Street between Retief and Boshoff Street is a nightmare, please do something Mr Mayor!” tweeted King Dazz Khumalo.

Another resident wanted Ndlela to consider creating cycle paths through the city centre.

“#AskChrisN #SOCA Can we have cycle paths all over town; not just at Alexandra Road?” tweeted Felicia Clarke.

One Twitter user said he wanted mechanics fixing vehicles on the roadside to be made aware of how they are polluting the environment.

“#AskChrisN #Soca let’s teach all the mechanics fixing cars on street about environment they are disposing of oil on the street which affect environment. There are companies collecting old oil,” said Sbonelo Sikhakhane on Twitter.

Msunduzi Municipality said they are accepting all questions, suggestions and comments on the city and some may even be used in the State of the City address tomorrow at the Royal Showgrounds.

Msunduzi Municipality acting spokesperson Nqobile Madonda said the mayor and the municipality wants to know what your feelings are toward the city.

“Residents can ask the mayor any questions they want or even make suggestions of what they would want the mayor to talk about or feature in his State of the City address,” said Madonda. As part of the marketing for the State of the City address, residents and visitors of Pietermaritzburg are asked to take a selfie or a picture and publish them on Twitter to @CityofChoice_1 using any of the following hashtags: #SOCA, #AskChrisN or #MsunduziMarketing

“We want to hear from you. Whether you’re happy, sad, have a complaint or a compliment — we’re here to help,” said Madonda. ?
