Cop arrested for killing relative

Potchefstroom - A police constable was arrested for allegedly shooting dead a relative in Potchefstroom, North West police said on Monday.

Lieutenant Colonel Lesego Metsi said the officer allegedly used his service pistol to shoot the 36-year-old man from behind during an argument on Sunday afternoon.

The bullet hit him in the left shoulder. He died at the scene.

The constable was expected to appear in the Potchefstroom Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

In a separate incident, a police reservist was arrested for allegedly stabbing a man to death near Bloemhof in the North West. Police were still searching for the man.

    Is this a coincidence? Marikana miners where shot in the back,the cop is from north west and he shoots people from the back.was the relative carrying a panga or a knob kirie? Oh south frica.
