Pietermaritzburg - The hunt for the second suspect in the attack on Bilaz Asan ended in success on Monday.

Police spokesperson Major Thulani Zwane confirmed that a 25-year-old suspect was arrested in Chase Valley, Pietermaritzburg, after evading the police since the incident on Wednesday last week.

The suspect is expected to face the same charges as his counterpart, Avikar Lutchman, 27.

Lutchman appeared in court last Friday on charges of assault, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm and attempted murder. He was remanded in custody until 22 January.

The two men were arrested after they allegedly brutally attacked Asan on Tuesday last week at his work premises, spraying him with white car paint.

The suspect will appear in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
