Johannesburg - Six people were arrested in Kempton Park on Thursday when the Gauteng traffic police anti-hijack unit seized a truck carrying stolen cigarettes worth R17m, according to spokesperson Busaphi Nxumalo.

"The truck had been hijacked in Sasolburg and had been on its way to Cape Town," she said.

However, members of the police unit tracked it to Kempton Park.

The stolen cigarettes belonged to the company British American Tobacco, she added.

The six people arrested are expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate's Court on Friday.

Lock them in a room and make them smoke the cigarettes.

The crooks got smoked this time

      Garth - 2011-12-30 14:24

Yeah, but if they had coughed up a bribe, the police would have probably filtered the evidence through the system.
