Creecy hates black people - Sadtu

2011-03-11 13:10

Johannesburg - The SA Democratic Teachers' Union (Sadtu) on Friday called for "tyrannical" Gauteng MEC Barbara Creecy to step down because she "hates black people".

"The best answer is for her to step down. She must just go away," the union's Gauteng chairperson Moss Senye told Sapa.

He labelled Creecy a "tyrant" that focused only on white schools.

"She just hates black people. She only gives cellphones to teachers and principals in white schools and now she is putting fences for them," he said.

He questioned where the money came from and accused her of neglecting black schools that had huge textbook shortages and deteriorating facilities.

'Satanic' remarks

Senye also dismissed reports that he had called Creecy "satanic" at a mass rally on Thursday.

"There was no context to that. It was not intentional," he said.

"It was not about Barbara. We said some members from the department were tyrannical and terrible towards teachers."

The Sowetan newspaper reported that Creecy came under fire at a meeting on Thursday for implementing the "No work, no pay" policy.

Creecy's spokesperson Charles Phahlane declined to comment on the racism and satanism remarks, but said labour unions did not object to the implementation of the policy for teachers who participated in last year's month-long public sector strike.

"We have not received any formal objection to that," Phahlane told Sapa.

"All the unions agreed that deductions would resume in March and we will therefore proceed with it."

Phahlane said an agreement was reached with all the unions, including Sadtu, after certain concerns were addressed.

"The unions had some concerns about deductions and claimed that our [the department's] database and statistics [those who participated in the strike and those who did not] were not accurate and they wanted a clean-up of it."

"In January and February, we undertook a whole process around this and now there is no problem with the database," he explained.

The new statistics were sent to schools and unions to verify.

"We got the verification and on that basis we will proceed with deductions," he said.

No work no pay. That is the name of the game. Guess who the racist is in this case?

Bush's no kid left behind School in Hastings NY. Cost $38,000 per "student" pa. not a White face in sight. Principal "Most of them are going to jail anyway"

      Albert - 2011-03-11 16:04

DAB, I thought that was the principle of employment?. All Barbara is doing is calling a spade a spade. Trouble is that with these uneducated teachers and SATU members, they go from the premise that they want to be paid for "not working" and leeching off the taxpayer. The ANC is showing its true racist colours at last. No more rainbow nation. The whits and colourds in the ANC have only been bribed with cushy jobs ( like Kortbroek van Schalkwyk, Mulder and Manuel) to try and capture white and coloured votes. When they have served their purpose, watch this space --- they will be booted out. as they know NO basic history they will also refuse to accept the fact that they are also just settlers having migrated south from central Africa, plundering and murdering the indigenous Koisan people. Although only municipal, this will be a very interesting election in May. They are shooting themselves in the foot so often it's beginning to look like a sieve.

      Warren - 2011-03-13 09:51

It is impossible for Moss Senye to be "ray-ceest", he is black!!!

      Chris - 2011-07-13 08:08

Maybe she does hate blacks. maybe, but i simply cannot understand why this might be. because surely they are sweet little darlings! they never steal, loot and plunder. they never burn stuff for fun. they always pass and they are a great contributer to this country. they make for great leaders? No? ell, why she hates them is beyond me!

  • pop101 - 2011-03-11 13:18

"She was a member of the South African Students' Press Union and used her journalism skills in ANC underground structures". And one by one the liberals are starting realize that for the ANC it is all about colour, and not really for what you stand for.

      Jayjay001 - 2011-03-11 16:46

Here's someone who fought the oppressive system back then and now we're having to go AGAIN through it with our present government. SICK of it, and we are in desperate need of every citizen of South Africa to firstly understand the Constitution, which CLEARLY states against Racism of ANY kind. And to get a Army of Lawyers to fight this Tyranny and FINALLY make us move towards a Rainbow Nation.

Please don't take this out of context, but how can Moss expect us to believe the ANC has a racist amongst their ranks!?!

Sadtu hates learners - they left them out to dry before exams .

  • Baboon sheperd - 2011-03-11 13:27

I am a darkie and fully support Barbara Creecy. It's about principle, finish and klaar! When they were shouting insults, trashing schools and making it impossible for any learning to take place didn't they know that the moment of truth would come? No work, no pay. Finish and klaar. They must go to abomashonisa (loan sharks) to survive. Sort them out Barbara!!

      willieman - 2011-03-11 16:15

I'm a darkie i support you 10000000% it is high time in this country all the think tanks must come together and start the Movement for the Intellectuals. This country's education is going down.SADTU, it is about time you start to think by using your brains and not your heads. How on earth can you support 30% and 40% pass.If you cannot debate or address issues you resort to calling those who differ with you RACIST.Think about it this are teachers and principals. What is it that you do not understand NO WORK NO PAY.Your mother body(COSATU) agreed to this.SADTU members your problem is ,you like to sit on the wings of those who work, you know your increase is the same across the board. Some of you are lazy (i repeat)you sit on wings of others.Start to read and stop depending on HEARSAY in that way you will be clever ultimately you will be intelligent.SADTU your are a disgrace, embarassment an insult to our children and the whole country. This nonsense of supporting the ANC and when you do not agree you compromise our children it must come to an END

      Zinki - 2011-03-13 12:14

Well said, Willieman. This country needs proactive people like you. Why do all your people keep quiet and watch these things happen? It is now time to get together with your brothers and act to save us all from this degradation. The matric pass rate was so rigged last year, it's a joke all over the world.

      gossipgirl58 - 2011-03-21 10:18

Freedom means nothing if the race card is played everytime someone tries to enforce action against those, who like u say trash schools dont care to educate those scholars who desperately want to better their lives. Rallies on days like today should be used to teach people that true freedom comes with education which in turns allows the individual financial freedom to live as he wishes.

  • Kevin King - 2011-03-11 13:38

  • Grant - 2011-03-11 14:05

Moss Senye has got to make some sort of poulist militant statement. The union in all probability made promises to the striking teachers with regard to pay and they have now got a facefull of egg! Be strong Barbara. By the way, my teacher wife (white) has not got her phone yet, is it in the post maybe?

  • Igsaan - 2011-03-11 14:14

"Satanize"? Where do they get these people?? This guy sounds crazy. Seems to me the best and brightest people in SA stay as far away from politics and the public sector as possible.

  • PAR - 2011-03-11 14:18

In fact Satan would go for the No Work Full Pay option so think Senye is more than a little confused. This country needs disciplined workers that know that they are entitled to strike but there will be consequences.

  • Lizelle - 2011-03-11 14:20

And Moss Seye does not hate white people? His comments sounds like pure childish tantrums: "I'm black & because I did not get a cellphone you hate black people & you are a satanist". WTF!!! Moss must put on his velletjie, go to the field & guard his goats.

  • Virginia - 2011-03-11 14:32

Senya have you asked barabara why? Maybe she is just sick and tired of thin gs being stolen and vandalised at "black" schools. One does not have to be a racist to see what is happening in this country. You people just do not lookm after anything that is GIVEN TO YOU, ITS ABOUT TIME YOU WERE MADE TO WORK FOR EVEYTHING YOU GET, just like the racist white and coloured people of this country.

the problem here white people, is the subsidies them white schools are getting yet black schools aint getting shit.if yall were rational,u would have adressed that, instead you counter that with his remarks, thereby justifying her actions(4 being racist). i dont think SADTU has a problem with the "no work, no pay" rule. you(white people)claim u wanna make SA work but u constantly critiscise and defend, black and white respectively.even when the latter is in the wrong. based on that,SA will always be divided and i guess majority rules.ponder on that.

You black people are mostly lazy and want everything for free. We white people came here with nothing and build an entire country with infrastructure and a strong economy. Now you black people take what the white people build and you even want more. You black people must give thanx to the white people, because with us you would have been just another poor african country, critisizing America, but at the same time asking for their aid. betterness - 2011-03-11 16:23

Just a few things that are really pissing white people off: - lack of accountability, in fact ... zero accountability - BEE (reverse racism!) putting, for the most part, clueless idiots in charge - a defensive and (un)justifiable approach to all mistakes made - the electorate buying into ANC (another neanderthal concept) rhetoric, and voting SOLEY on skin colour - blatant corruption in the ranks, without ANY measure of consequence - a general feeling of entitlement ... you owe us!?? - brain drain and the impact it's having on the country, when those in charge should be enticing intelligence to stay! - apathy; indifference; lethargy... by those in senior positions - greed; power; gimme gimme attitude - corruption! sweep it under the carpet ... forget about it! - a general lack of competancy in all govt departments Those are just a fraction of the absurdities prevalent in this otherwise great country of ours, and the tragic part of all this is that the majority of people from all walks of life, from all provinces and colour tones here simply want SA to succeed and prosper. Open your eyes people,, and rid this pseudo-government from it's unwarranted throne. Tata ma chance on another party ... before it get too late!!

      Slapper - 2011-03-11 16:34

White People subsidize White Schools. Why don't Blacks do the same for Black schools? which Whites also subsidize. Get with the program Bro.

      Alfred - 2011-03-11 16:39

Maybe "yall" black folks should start paying "them" school fees and then you'll "get shit" that you want. "you(white people)claim u wanna make SA work but u constantly critiscise and defend, black and white respectively.even when the latter is in the wrong." "u would have adressed that, instead you counter that with his remarks, thereby justifying her actions(4 being racist)" Hypocrite much, numbnuts? "SA will always be divided and i guess majority rules.ponder on that." Even though one of the few things that "yall" excel at is multiplying, despite not being able to afford to, may make you the majority, but it sure as hell doesn't make you right. Ponder that.

      BLACKMAMBA - 2011-03-11 17:39

@betterness,i feel u player. i for 1 wont be voting for the anc in the near future, provided the DA improves its policies or another compentent party is created.(YES THE ANC IS CORRUPT AND ITS EMBARRASSING.) the problem is,constantly the DA is always exposed 4 being racist and that creats a lot of radical black people. black people are going back to the teachings of Biko and Malcom X and yes white people you should be concerned ie. black consciousness. they still feel, the white south african man still thinks hes superior and you find a lot of them supporting Mugabe and his policies.maybe it is true when u are told only 27% Companies listed on the JSE are black. #just a thought

      Cire - 2011-03-13 12:22

@Blackmamba: Actually, under the Norms and Standards policy, ex-black schools get much more funding per capita than ex-White, Indian or Coloured schools. They also get allocated teachers according to the same formaula, yet class sizes are bigger - try and figure out why (consider the actual classroom teaching loads of these teachers. Down below you quote Biko but you don't even begin to understand him.

      AJ - 2011-03-14 12:11

Standards are a real bitch, hey.

  • Rach - 2011-03-11 16:03

Why is there is shortage of textbooks in black schools? Why are the black schools in such a state of disrepair ? Why ? Have you ever seen white schools burning the school property, destoying the school property ? NO!!!!! Why must we as tax payers provide for selfish, ungrateful children, just to have it burned and destroyed because they are unhappy about things not going their way. Oh, sorry did you not get a celphone - BUY ONE - That is what most of us do

      moiraine - 2011-03-11 17:03

Not to mention that my daughter is at a "white" government school (which of course is actually multiracial) and I pay huge school fees per year. My colleagues daughter is at a "black" government school and pays R780 per year. That would not cover my monthly fees.

      63Starlight - 2011-03-14 12:29

I agree. Back in the day when students respected the faculty and each other and property. If we wanted a swimming pool, we would raise the funds ourselves by hosting events. We were not "given" anything. We had to work hard. If we so much as pulled a face at a teacher, we were disciplined. We were proud of our school and our uniform. We took care of our text books and had to pay for any damages done to them. Lost text books were paid for by our parents. These days, you see brats smoking in their uniforms which barely cover their waterline. Facial piercings, coloured hair, ill mannered, no etiquette and beating up and killing teachers are obviously considered "kewl". I'm proud of my education which was considered one of the highest quality education in the world. Now, you have matriculants who cannot even spell or read coherently. No contest.

The radio whispers are gaining momentum as senior figures linked to the Alliance attack minorities with ugly racists smears. The cadres claim Black people cannot be racist as are using this excuse to spread hate. Genocide could occur at a drop of a hat anywhere in the world under the right conditions. The conditions are ripe in South Africa. These recent utterings from senior Alliance members should be a wake up call as problems starting to surface due the cadres inability to govern. The alliance need to drop the milatant mindset as the war is long over and come into 2011 from 1 the 1970's. At least we know now where the ANC is taking us.

  • Podgette - 2011-03-12 08:25

Scary that SADTU is the head of those in charge of educating our kids. What is it with these people - say what you like (plant the seed) and then backtrack and say it was taken out of context, unintentional etc. Cry rascism whenever things don't go their way! Grow up people, especially you idiots in education ~ the future of this country rests in your hands and at the moment you are churning out ungrateful, lazy oafes who want everything without putting in the effort! And parents start teaching your kids the fundamentals of good manners and respect from an early age.

  • Cire - 2011-03-13 12:16

Well - no work no pay for SADTU? Obviously, the woman is a racist. If she rigorously enforced the spirit of the policy the vast majority of Gauteng teachers would never be paid. Can't have that, can we comrades? meanwhile the comrades all send their kids to independent and ex-Model c schools where teachers actually work hard and provide education for children. SADTU is a national menace to the education of the urban and rural poor and exists only to preserve the cushy lives of lazy unconcerned teachers who spend more time under trees or in the staff room than in classes. And produce the worst results in the world - including Africa!

      Stephen - 2011-03-13 15:21

i agree all teachers, minsisters of education etc should send their kids to the schools they teach in or the worst school in the area they represent. No goverment officia;l should be allowed to send their kids to pvt schools, then i am sure we would see an improvement in the education system.

  • Stephen - 2011-03-13 15:14

well she must be a Ssatanist for a no work no pay policy, now we can see why this asshole is upset, just another PDB who blames the world (no sorry whites) for everything bad in their lives. build a bridge bro. You should rather spend time and effort on getting the lazy and the lame in your organization to actualy teach, not just show up for a pay cheque every month. You sir are the racist.

  • Sword&Cross - 2011-03-14 13:14

Isn't Barabara Creecy meant to be an ANC megaphone bleating out around the country that all underage kids MUST REPRODUCE? So how do these so called "teachers" live under the no work no pay system as none of them seem to be interested in teaching anyway. Fire all the strikers and employ all those dedicated fully qualified teachers who cannot get permanent teaching posts, and bring back punishment for wrong doers in all schools then maybe, just maybe we will end up with employable students in future.
