D-day for Jub Jub, co-accused

2012-10-15 22:18

Johannesburg - Musician Molemo "Jub Jub" Maarohanye and Themba Tshabalala are expected to learn their fate in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

Magistrate Brian Nemavhidi postponed the matter on Friday to avoid a disjuncture in the judgment.

Maarohanye and Tshabalala were allegedly drag-racing in Protea North in 8 March 2010 when they crashed into a group of schoolchildren.

Prince Mohube, Mlungisi Cwayi, Andile Mthombeni, and Phomello Masemola, were killed. Frank Mlambo and Fumani Mushwana were seriously injured.

They are charged with murder, reckless driving, driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, and failing to asses the injuries of the victims.

Both have pleaded not guilty.

Nemavhidi started handing down judgment on Wednesday and concluded summing up the evidence of witnesses on Friday.

Family members and friends of the school children, and of Maarohanye and Tshabalala, were present at all three days of judgment and expected to return on Tuesday.

Mohube's family told reporters they were relieved the trial, that started in 2010, was coming to an end.

Season 3 episode 564 The saga continues.

      lownabester - 2012-10-15 22:30

Please may it end tomorrow, and let them spend the night in jail, no extended bail for appeals.

      john.matuludi.3 - 2012-10-15 22:37

The road is coming to an end for jub jub, the guy must meet is fate tomorrow

      christopher.shining - 2012-10-15 23:54

You make it very trivial Sharon...Its about lives that have been destroyed and taken away from loved ones. Its no saga. You probably don't have people that you love around you. Or don't care. will happen when you love someone so unconditionally and when you think about, what would you feel if that person was taken away from you senselessly.

      aniken.vader.31 - 2012-10-16 01:48

christopher - she is as ANGRY as most of us with the guys, we are just SICK and TIRED of waiting for this dragged-out nonsense of a trial!

  • Bafana Joseph - 2012-10-15 22:35

its gonna rain 2moro...meaning will be no D-day for Jub Jub

      christopher.shining - 2012-10-15 23:42

They killed four teenagers(nearly decapitating 2 of them) and critically injured two others. But they still go to the hairdressers to look good, still goes home to get fed, while the Mothers and Fathers and siblings of those children that were taken away innocently mourn, because they will never ever see their child grow to the person that he could have been, spend that beautiful time with his family, and grow old in this beautiful country. Because you have do*ses like JUB JUB and HIS Fu**en side kick seeing how fast there stupid fu**en cars can go...DIE IN JAIL...That judge better not f**k this up!

      christopher.shining - 2012-10-15 23:48

By the way Bafana...funny...Thats what I was supposed to say initially, then the emotion took over!

I saw this Jub Jub Dude shopping in Sandton City with his mates about a month ago. He clearly was enjoying Life without any shame or concern that most of the public were watching him. Absolutely No Remorse! Sadly speaking, my thoughts were immediately on the Poor Victims and their families that are still seeking Justice! This verdict will be a True Test of the SA Justice System! I Rest My Case! By The Way, DO NOT BUY an E-TAG! EVER! It will be the WITH HOLDING of THE TAXPAYER MONEY that will ULTIMATELY see the DEMISE of SANRAL and it's Clandestine Corrupt Secret Deals!

      ftakalani - 2012-10-16 09:25

So u ddnt want him to shop in sandton or u wanted him to shop while crying? Come on make sense he did wrong but he still hav a lyf to live. Jub Jub is lyk any persn who did rong and it was not intentionally

Our justice systwm is flawed and a flop. The case is going to be twisted with both accused getting different sentwnces. Jubjub will get less.

We all know he's going to be out on medical parole verrrry soon, so this whole judgement thing today will just be another insult to our justice system.\r\nCondolences to the families of those poor kids.

  • phizaphizpop.thindisa - 2012-10-16 07:21

Everyone can make a mistake despite who you are,am not trying to defend anyone but Jub Jub is a human being as well. He deserve a second chance, lets not judge him let the law do the rest.If it was your brother facing charges like this, we you going to comment like this.Lets not forget, this guys deserve a second chance

      Lusanda Rorwana - 2012-10-16 08:05

i just hope that jub jub ends up in jail because he doesnt feel the loss of those families and why plead not guilty wheres he knows that he is guilty, lets just this n over and done with i just hope the judge today could give his vedict and sentence them so that those families could be happy that the men who killed their children are punished the law must take its place today

      sphesihle.mkhabelaadams - 2012-10-16 08:53

I really wonder if this is what you were going to say if it was your brother who died, were you really going to say "let's give Jub Jub a second chance" or rather yet think how this would have hurt you if it was your son, probably took you years to have that child and one minute he is here the next gone...........

      Jo.Davies123 - 2012-10-16 09:45

When he kills your child, speeding with cocaine and morphine in his system, will you say the same thing? He has still not admitted to his mistake, so what is there to forgive? 2 children will spend their lives dependant on other people. 4 families have to visit graves to see their children. If it was my brother, he would also have to pay the price, and my head would hang in utter shame.

  • sisie.indola - 2012-10-16 07:37

Let's hope it does not rain....

  • tshepo.maganedisa - 2012-10-16 08:18

The sad part about this is that even when found guilty they are still going to appeal their judgment and that means more miserable days, months and years for victims while perpatrators are abusing the system *i feel sorry for the family of those kids*

  • RhymeLegend - 2012-10-16 08:22

This will probably be postponed again.

  • mable.jacobs.90 - 2012-10-16 09:22
