Johannesburg - Two men were arrested on Monday afternoon when dagga worth R100 000 was found in Eldorado Park, Johannesburg, police said.

Police on patrol spotted a Toyota Quantum and an 18-wheeler truck near the Golden Highway, Lieutenant Colonel Katlego Mogale said.

They noticed a man loading a bag onto the Quantum. The men refused to say what was inside the bag, police searched the vehicles and found six refuse bags filled with dagga.

Mogale said police later established that the truck was transporting sugar from Durban to a nearby biscuit factory. It was returned to its owner.

The men would appear in the Eldorado Park Magistrate's Court soon to face charges of dealing in and possession of dagga.
