Polokwane - Two people were killed and two injured when two cars collided on the N1 south just outside Polokwane on Friday, paramedics said.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Santi Steinmann said a light delivery vehicle and motor vehicle collided on Friday afternoon.

The injured were taken to a nearby hospital. One was seriously injured and the other sustained moderate injuries, Steinmann said.

The cause of the accident was still unclear.
