Desperate robber kills self

2012-01-18 13:58

Delareyville - An armed robber killed himself and three other robbers were arrested after holding up a farm shop in Delareyville, North West police said on Wednesday.

Captain Tselane Nkala said six men stole three guns from the shop's safe in the robbery on Tuesday morning. They fled afterwards.

"The police were chasing the men and found them hiding in [nearby] bushes," Nkala said.

"One of the men had a gun and he shot himself in the head before police could arrest him. They managed to catch three of the other suspects, while two of them ran away."

The wounded robber was taken to a nearby hospital, but died before he could be treated.

Police were still searching for the other two, Nkala said.

    Shoot him dead again

      rbphiri - 2012-01-18 14:20

He was already brain dead - I guess he robber needed further reinforcement through suicide just to confirm his condition. Or maybe he wanted to see what his chances were of going to heaven. Or the general assumption is that Vaseline is quite terrifying.

      rbphiri - 2012-01-18 14:41

      Newsmonger - 2012-01-18 15:31

I was taught not to rejoice in someone else's misery, but sometimes I think I could have been taught wrong.

  • Bryan - 2012-01-18 14:12

"Desperate robber kills self" or "Desperate robber kills himself?"

      rbphiri - 2012-01-18 14:22

A common case of "desperate" headline

      Deon - 2012-01-18 14:28

This "kills self" should kill of his career (the writer), my English is bad enough.

      George - 2012-01-18 14:38

      rbphiri - 2012-01-18 14:44

      rbphiri - 2012-01-18 14:36

That's why the echoe of the gun shot could be heard from miles away.

      George - 2012-01-18 14:39

      rbphiri - 2012-01-18 14:49

If he was really aiming for his brains he would have missed since his brain are not even there. He needs blank bullets for his blank mind.

  • Garth - 2012-01-18 14:41

This man should be idolised as a shining example of what we expect of every criminal in this land. Go on all you criminal boys and girls, it's the least that one can do for his/her country.

      rbphiri - 2012-01-18 14:56

  • Schmee - 2012-01-18 15:02

Actually he was a very considerate criminal. At least we, the honest taxpayers, don't have to feed him. Nor do we have to provide him with condoms. I'm starting to like this guy.
