Dlamini-Zuma gets global award

2012-12-09 22:25

Johannesburg - African Union Commission Chair Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma would receive an international prize on Sunday, her office said.

"The chairperson of the African Union Commission, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will later today, Sunday 9 December 2012 be honoured with the Renaissance Woman of the Year Award 2012," Dlamini-Zuma's advisor Febe Potgieter said.

The Palazzo Strozzi Foundation benefits the city of Florence, Italy.

It gives an annual award to a Renaissance Man or Woman of the Year.

Ted Turner, founder of CNN, received the award in 2011, and was its first recipient.

Just to mention that Palazzo Strozzi Foundation is registered American charity responsible for generating support for the Palazzo Strozzi and the city of Florence. So...How much cost us this "Woman of the Year" award? Mamma Dlamini-Zuma gets global award based on what? A membership in billionaires club? Last year Ted Turner paid the US debt to UN and won the Palazzo Strozzi Foundation 2011 award....what Dlamini-Zuma paid tough?

      salee.sithwell - 2012-12-10 03:24

Well, Patrick.Erni, you'll wait an eternity, because transcripts are never heard. They are read.

      dave.hardman - 2012-12-10 01:22

Arrogant young fool! Talk about haters, you have caused more grief in your short life than you are letting on. You are more than a racist, you hate black people too!

      brian.vdwesthuizen - 2012-12-10 03:17

oh we did/and will leave as you ask, but do us a favour then msizi and kie, stop sticking your hand out for aid all the time, stop asking the 1st world to bail you out every time you stuff it up.

      lsmalope - 2012-12-10 07:32

after going though your facebook page, I can safely comment that something's wrong with you...

      lsmalope - 2012-12-10 07:42

@brian.vdwesthuizen don't forget that more resources and funds(through multinationals) flow out of developing countries than in so aid from developed nations is justified. Developed nations also need to diversify their trade partners(e.g. Germany is being dragged down by its trade partners in the EuroZone). By developing the African market, developed countries are actually opening up trade opportunities for themselves.

To the commentators who are quite elated about Dlamini-Zuma getting this award I would like to ask : what do do understand about the term 'Renaissance woman'? Google it but I bet D-Z doesn't know herself.

  • GregGow1234 - 2012-12-10 03:37

Nobody from the ANC government deserves any awards.

      Thabo Mbewu - 2012-12-10 08:50

GregGow1234-Who deserve an award? You? what the hell for? What did you do? So you think and wish people like you deserve awards? These types of attitudes stink! Get yourself a cage in the zoo, that will be a perfect space for you! Someone has benefited positively from this government, especially those who were previously disadvantaged! Sorry for your loss, we shall all share this wealth baba!!!!! Take a chill pill!!!!! Uzoba strong!!!!! Ha ha ha haaaaa!!!!!!
