Doctor due in court for fraud

Pretoria - A North West doctor accused of submitting Compensation Fund claims for patients he did not treat appears again in the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Wednesday.

Dr Tebogo Ephraim Kaeletsa, from Pampierstad, allegedly defrauded the fund, which falls under the labour department, of more than R660 000.

During a previous appearance, PKF official Jabu Zwane told the court he had obtained voluntary incriminating sworn statements from the doctor.

PKF is an international business advisory organisation which was contracted by the Compensation Fund.

However, Kaeletsa's lawyer Samuel Molele submitted that his client was threatened with arrest if he did not write the statement the way he was instructed to by Zwane.

Zwane told the court that at the time he took the statement he was investigating fraud allegations against Kaeletsa on behalf of the labour department.

He had not told Kaeletsa that the sworn statements obtained from him would later be used against him in court, the court heard.

He is defrauding the government and people who genuinely get hurt at work.........he should be locked up, all he was in it for was the money ...maybe they should check if he really is a doctor.
